The Nuvem Consulting office in Omaha is 1,657 miles from Salesforce Tower in San Francisco. In an effort to support more clients with lead-to-cash implementations, Nuvem is expanding to Indianapolis, the home of Salesforce’s second largest office in the U.S.
Indianapolis is also the site of a growing tech community and sits within driving distance of cities like Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Louis.
Alex Gates will lead Nuvem’s partnership with Salesforce and business development initiatives in the region. Alex was introduced to Salesforce while working at ExactTarget. After Salesforce acquired the company, he was exposed to the CRM trailblazer’s culture and values. He appreciated Salesforce’s approach to business and the support they offered to partners.
He also admired the company’s impact on the city of Indianapolis. “They really kicked off tech in Indy,” he said. The influence of Salesforce, the growth of the tech industry, and a revitalization of downtown have made the city more vibrant and dynamic.
After working at ExactTarget, Alex moved on to a sales role at a SaaS company before finding a position at another Salesforce consulting partner. While working in the consulting-side of Salesforce he was not only able to learn how companies can properly leverage the platform to promote growth, but also to see the value partners can provide Salesforce customers.
“Correctly implementing and using different Salesforce products is similar to getting a new car,” he said. “You could buy a really nice car, that’s a manual transmission, but if you don’t know how to drive it properly, it won’t do much for you and you’ll be pretty frustrated with it. Proper Salesforce implementation and workflows are critical to a company’s success.”
Originally from the Cincinnati area, Alex is an ardent supporter of Cincy sports teams. But, after ten years in Indianapolis, he has become a fan of the Pacers. Outside of the cold Indy winters, he loves to golf and hike. He also enjoys trivia, reading historical nonfiction, and exploring new breweries and restaurants around Indy.
At Nuvem, Alex will focus on growing the company’s footprint in Salesforce lead-to-cash implementations and custom development. His years of experience in tech and familiarity with Salesforce solutions make him an ideal fit for this role.
